That's okay. I'm just swamped right now myself getting things done. I love writing but I classify it as something to do for fun and to be done when I have no work to get done. The next chapter will be up on either Friday or Saturday.

Author's Note: Alright everyone sorry about the delay. I promise not to take so long in the future. Now this chapter takes place three days after chapter eleven. Enjoy.

CHAPTER TWELVE
NEW YORK
"I still don't understand why we are letting Sylar go." said Mohinder as he looked at Noah and Kaito. The

three men were now in Kirby Plaza in a building that was very familiar to Mohinder since it had been once

owned by the Company.

"Because at the moment Sylar seems real about wanting to stop being Sylar." said Noah.

"Impossible. The man is nothing more than a parasite." said Mohinder as he looked around the building that

would soon be his lab. "He could still go after Claire.".

"And if he does I will make sure he dies. But until then we are leaving him alone." said Noah. For him at least
things were looking up. With the new Company being built in New York which meant he no longer had to

hide, Sandra and Lyle would be coming to New York in three days and Claire and Zach were at the

moment exploring New York. Noah also knew that Claire would want to speak with her birth father Nathan

and want to be apart of his family and Noah held no real grudges. No for Noah this was a freash start and

nothing was going to make him screw this chance up.

"I still don't see why you want Matt and Nathan to keep their jobs if they both agree to work with us." said

Mohinder looking at Kaito.

"It is never wrong to have a ally in the police force and in law firms. It gives us a leverage if we need to go

into places that only they could go." said Kaito.

"And Hiro is in Japan to collect his sister so that the whole Nakimura clan can help operate things here." said

Noah.

"With you being in charge of the field work of course." said Kaito.

"And I will continue my reasearch well funded. In all everything has at least turned out slightly well." said

Mohinder.

"Now our only concern is Adam and his forces." said Kaito.

"Yeah that will have to wait until we get ourselves operational. Otherwise we can't do anything." said Noah.

The three men agreed silently and they all went back to work getting the building ready.


NEW YORK
"I still can't believe were here." said Zach as he walked along with Claire.

"Yeah. The last time I was here everything was so rushed that I barely had time to see anything." said Claire

as she sat down and she and Zach started in on their ice cream cones.

"So what are you going to do about your parents?" asked Claire.

"Nothing really. I mean lets face it we were never really that close and I've had my cell phone with me and

they haven't called me yet. Maybe it's better this way. I just can't believe I still have the same power as your

bio-dad's." said Zach.

"Well no offense there can't be that many special powers in the world. For all I know there are a few other

people who jump off cliff's and live." said Claire.

"True." said Zach taking a bite of his. "So is that our next stop going to see Nathan?".

"Not really sure. I mean maybe. It's just the last time I saw him he was with my uncle and he's gone." said

Claire sadly.

"Yeah I really wish I could have met him." said Zach. "But still he does know your in New York right?".

"No." said Claire shrugging.

"Well then you have just made it easy." said Zach getting up grabbing Claire's hand.

"What are we doing?" asked Claire.

"Were going to duck into a building and fly there." said Zach.

"Zach we can't fly there it's in the middle of the day. And New York has I don't know a hundered different

ways to travel." said Claire stopping Zach from moving.

"Oh yeah. You want to get a cab, a bus or a subway in New York city with agressive people and frequent

traffic jams." said Zach arching an eyebrow.

"Well it's peaceful at traffic jams." said Claire weekly.

"Okay yeah. Now were flying." said Zach as he took Claire's hand and started to lead her out of the park.


"Gabriel can you explain to me again why you need blank canvess?" asked Amy as she set one down to go
with the many on her floor.

"Well I feel like I need to test some of my powers out. Get a better control over them. And like you said try

and remember each victim. Well this is the only way I can. So I'm using Issac's power to give me a little

direcetion." said Gabriel.

"Yeah well just as long as I don't need to go to the hospital again." said Amy.

"Okay the first time I will admit was my fault. But the second time wasn't." said Gabriel.

"Gabriel those people thought you were going to kill them. You can't blame them for your actions." said

Amy.

"You blame Chandra." pointed out Gabriel.

"Well. It's different for me." said Amy while Gabriel just rolled his eyes. "Anyway I need to get some paper

work done. I'll bring home dinner.".

"Pizza?" asked Gabriel.

"Yes pizza." sighed Amy as she grabbed her purse and left. Gabriel just laughed as he took his paint brush

and some paint and looked at the canvasses. Feeling a surge of energy go through him his eyes began to

cloud over as he began to paint.

"Claire it is a pleasure to finally meet you." said Heidi as she walked in with Claire's iced tea and Zach's root
beer.

"Well I was just in the neighborhood and decided to pop by." said Claire silently. Zach and Heidi both

exchanged glances and looked at Claire and Nathan who were both hugely uncomfortable being in the same

room.

"Zach. I could use some help in the kitchen if you don't mind." said Heidi.

"Oh I'd love to." said Zach jumping up and following Heidi.

"Zach." said Claire as he left before looking at Nathan.

"So." said Nathan.

"Yeah." said Claire both not really sure what to say.

"I'm sorry. For letting my mom control everything. And I'm sorry about hurting you." said Nathan rubbing a

hand through his hair.

"No there's nothing to be sorry about. I mean your mom is really good at twisting things. She almost had

me." said Claire twirling her hair nervously.

"So you and your family are moving to New York?" asked Nathan.

"Yeah. I guess that means I could stop by every now and then." said Claire.

"Heidi would love that. I think she want's to adopt you." said Nathan.

"That wouldn't be so bad." said Claire giving Nathan a smile. The air was still thick with tension but it was

fading slowly. A knock on the door brought both Claire and Nathan to there feet.

"Who's that? Were you expecting someone?" asked Claire.

"Not to my knowledge." said Nathan as he headed towards the door, Claire behind him. Reaching the door

Nathan opened it and felt his legs almost give out from under him and Claire gasped.

"What is this a bad time?" asked Peter grinning with Hana and Claude behind him.


Gabriel shock his head as he started to awaken from his trance. Rubbing his eyes Gabriel grabbed his

glasses and looked at the painting he had completed and froze.

"Peter Petrelli?" asked Gabriel as he looked at himself and Peter in what looked to be a fight.

"No." said Gabriel as he looked at another portrait that showed a house with Peter and two others walking

towards it. Looking at the clock he saw that it had been at least three hours since he had gone under the

trance.

"Is this my future?" asked Gabriel his mind whirling. Peter had a power to absorb other powers. Gabriel

looking at the painting again had a thought cross his mind. Maybe Peter had to die in order for Sylar to die.

With Peter's power he would never need to kill again and that would stop Sylar. Gabriel would be free.

Taking off his glasses he grabbed his jacket and walked out of the door. Leaving the last painting unseen of a
beautiful woman of Mexican decent standing clutching her head as black tears fell and a little girl was on the

ground with black tears also falling.


Okay that was Chapter Twelve. Hope you enjoyed and guess what will happen in the next chapter. You guessed right it will be Peter vs. Gabriel (not Sylar) and what about the third painting? Hmm guess your going to have to wait and see.

CHAPTER THIRTEEN
"So you can control your powers?" asked Claire as she finished probably her third or forth glass of iced

tea.

"Yeah pretty much. I've even learned how block it so I don't absorb powers unless I want to." said Peter.

"Even your radioactive powers are under control?" asked Nathan through guarded eyes.

"Yes even that one. I can safely tell everyone that I will not be going nuclear any time soon." said Peter.

"It will be a change from all that crying you do." said Claude as he rolled his eyes.

"Well maybe if you hadn't left me when I was still unstable I would have never lost control to begin with."

said Peter.

"Why does it always come back to me?" asked Claude as he merely shock his head.

"Yeah well all of that is in the past now." said Claire. "Your home and nothing can change that.".

"Not exactly." said Hana. "We only came here because we intercepted some transmissions that indicated that
Adam was going to strike in New York in some way.".

"And Petey overhere would not stop whinning until we came and saw his precious family." said Claude.

"Adam. Heidi told me about him a few days ago. Our mother seemed stressed that he had escaped." said

Nathan.

"And right she should be." said Claude. "Adam helped create the Company and found the people he felt

would give him control of changing things. They betrayed him and Adam has never taken betrayl well.".

"So were all in danger." said Claire shaking her head. "Great what else could happen.". As if a curse had

been uttered Claire, Nathan, Claude and Hana were all lifted from there seats and pinned against the walls.

"Peter." shouted Claude as the fire pokers from the fire place flew out and warped binding each of the four

against the wall. Pinning them to it without really hurting them.

"I'm not doing this." said Peter alarmed as he got up.

"No but I am." said Gabriel walking out of the shadows and looking at Peter.

"Sylar." said Peter stunned.

"No. Gabriel." said Gabriel and Peter went flying through a wall.

"What's going on." shouted Heidi as she and Zach ran into the room only to be pinned by the furniture in the

room.

"This doesn't concern you. This is between me and him." said Gabriel staring down Peter his whole body

shaking.



"Sorry I'm late Gabriel." said Amy as she walked into the house. "I lost track of time and..." Amy froze

when she stared at the painting of Gabriel and whom she believed was Peter only his hair was a lot shorter.

"Gabriel no." said Amy as she studied the portrait her heart slowly breaking. Looking at the second painting

she saw the adress as well as what house she felt Gabriel would be going to. Dropping the pizza and

grabbing her purse Amy ran out of the room. In her mind only one thought was racing. She hoped that she

was not to late.


Peter slammed into another wall as he picked himself up and looked at Sylar or now as he was calling

himself Gabriel.

"What do you want?" demanded Peter.

"I want what you have Peter." said Gabriel. 'It's the only way to end this. I don't have any other choice.'.

"No other choice." said Peter. This seemed to make Gabriel even angrier as he held out his hand and

released a wave of radiation hitting Peter. His skin repairing itself Peter stood and looked at Gabriel.

"Not this time." said Peter as he looked at Gabriel and he went flying into a wall before turing invisible.

"You've already tried this trick Peter." said Gabriel as he lifted the debry. "It didn't work so well then either."

and with that the pieces flew off in hundreds of directions only to see a weird rippling in the air.

"What." said Gabriel shocked before he felt something ram into his face and send him crashing to the ground

as Peter reappeared.

"I've picked up a few new tricks." said Peter as he grabbed Gabriel and forced him against a wall. "I know

you don't want to fight me. So why are you doing this?".

"I have to. To be free." shouted Gabriel as he grabbed Peter's arms' with his hands as they became coated

with an icy sheen. Peter gasped as he felt the warmth instantly vanish from his arms and he released Gabriel

to the ground. Gabriel placed his hand on the ground sending a current of ice to Peter freezing his feet in

place. Peter screamed out from the icy pain as Gabriel got up to his feet.


"So Molly what do you want for dinner tonight?" asked Mohinder looking at his young ward.

"Anything as long as it's not pizza." said Molly.

"What's wrong with pizza?" asked Matt.

"We've had it for the past three nights." said Molly.

"You have." said Mohinder looking at Matt who shrugged.

"What can I say. I'm a horrible cook." said Matt.

"Yeah how he's survivied on his own is a miracle." said Molly as she took out her key and opened the front

door and froze. "No.".

"Molly." said Mohinder as he looked to see a man standing in there living room. "Who are you." Mohinder

demanded.

"Dad." said Matt in shock looking at the man.

"The nightmare man." said Molly as she was shaking.

"Well Matt this is a surprise. I was sent here to make sure that little girl couldn't find me and I find you." said

Maury looking at his son.

"I won't let you harm Molly." said Matt in a low growl.

"Sorry not going to happen." said Maury as he opened his mind and entered into there's. Mohinder collapsed
first the bag of groceries he carried strown all over the floor. Molly tried to run but collapsed in the hallway

next to her bedroom. Matt fell to his knees as his own power tried to fight back and break his father's hold.

"Not strong enough son." said Maury as Matt to fell uncouncious locked in a nightmare.


"I can not believe we are finally here." said Maya as she looked at Alejandro who was also smiling.

"Yes we've been traveling for days." said Alejandro as he parked the car in front of Mohinder's building.

"Now it says that Chandra Suresh resides on the eighth floor in apartment 2012." said Maya as she smiled.

"Come on." and with that Maya took off.

"Maya." called Alejandro shocked at his sister's sudden happiness and began to run after her. Bounding up

the stairs to excited to actually wait for an elevator Maya felt tears, clear tears fall down her face as she

made her way to the door, not even noticing that the door was slightly opened.

"Dr. Suresh." said Maya as she opened the door looking to see three people uncouncious.

"Maya." called Alejandro as he caught up to her and froze. "What did you do." Alejandro said in shock as he
went over to an dark skinned man and checked his pulse.

"I did not do this." said Maya as she walked over to the girl. "Who could have done this?" asked Maya only

to hear something crash to the floor and turn.

"Alejandro." shouted Maya looking up to see a man standing over him.

"I don't know why your here but you have made a big mistake." said Maury as he looked at Maya. 'Now

Maya show me what really scares you.'. Maya froze from the voice in her head before turning to a mirror

and her whole body began to shake.

"No." shouted Maya as she stared at herself only to have her eyes black and running more violently with

black tears, but it was also coming from her nose, ears and mouth. Fear gripped Maya as she felt it, her

disease start to pour out of her.

"No." shouted Maury. "What are you?". Maury however couldn't say anything else as he collapsed his eyes

blackening with tears begining to fall, along with Matt, Mohinder and Molly who all had black tears falling

from there eyes.


Gabriel gasped for breath as she stumbled back.

"What are you doing." Gabriel gasped weakly before falling his eyes covered in black. Peter himself started

to feel the effects before he gasped deeply his breathing normal.

"Peter!" shouted Claire in panic as Peter phased through the ice and walked back to the living room.

"What's happening Peter?" shouted Claire her eye's full of tears as everyone was collapsing there eyes black.

"What's happening?" screamed Claire frantically as Peter only stood frozen.


Outside the door of the Petrelli mansion Amy was laying on the ground her eyes blackening as she tried to

stay awake.

Okay that was the latest chapter. I hope you all enjoyed it. And for how Maya could be affecting people in the Petrelli mansion well I'm taking a little creative measures. Remember in one episode Maya decimated a villiage so I'm just working it out like that.
